Men's Group

The St. John’s Men’s group was started in September, 2008 in order to provide an opportunity for the men of the congregation to get to know each other better and to provide service to the congregation.
Although we do not meet on a regular basis, we do get together in small groups and activities. Our main objective at this point is working with the youth. The men’s group coordinates the Lenten suppers and works directly with the youth. The men provide role models for our youth of all ages while assisting in raising funds. In 2013 we began a new fundraiser to help our youth raise money. In February and November we made our own sausage and sold it to members and the community. Together with our youth; we cut, ground, mixed, stuffed and packaged over 4000 pounds of sausage this year.
It is a great time for fellowship and fun. All men of the congregation are invited to attend any or all of our meetings. For additional information, please contact the church office at 815-223-1144

Living Last Supper

The Living Last Supper was presented by the twelve disciples of Jesus.  The play takes place in the Upper Room; the staging is based on Leonardo da Vinci’s famous painting of The Last Supper.  Thirteen men from St. John’s portrayed Jesus and his 12 disciples as they take you back in time to the night before Jesus’ crucifixion when He shared the “Last Supper” with them.  Also, our fourth grade Sunday School children was welcomed to receive their first Holy Communion.
